How to Apply
Admissions have closed for 2019-2020 cycle. The last date to submit the application was May 20.
For your information, following is the application process that was applicable for 2019-2020 cycle.
Candidates are required to apply online. For assistance in completing the online application, applicants are advised to go through the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) or Understand the Online Process.
Only in situations where the online application is not accessible, candidates may request for a paper-based application form by emailing the Admission Office at postgrad.query@aku.edu.
Submitting Paper-Based Application
Following documents are required to be submitted with paper-based application:
Completed paper application form
Two photographs bearing your name and attestation at the back (please refer to photograph specification section)
One attested copy of CNIC / NICOP / Passport (passport is required for foreign nationals)
Curriculum Vitae and list of publications, if any
Letters of recommendation (in a sealed envelope by your referee) from at least 3 people who are well-acquainted with the applicant’s previous academic work and professional experience. These letters should not be more than one year old
Educational Documents: For all educational achievements (e.g. secondary school, college, graduate school, and/or professional schools) mentioned in the application form, following will be required: attested set of official transcripts / marks sheet; attested copy of degree / diploma / certificate
Graduate School Degree and Transcript / Mark Sheet must be attested by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC)
Attested copies of Work Experience Certificates (for all the experiences mentioned in the application form)
If you are currently enrolled in any other institution, please provide attested mark-sheets of recent examination taken or progress reports, as applicable
Application Fee
A non-refundable application fee will be applicable as described below:
Candidates applying from AKU residential countries*: Rs 6,300/-
Candidates applying from AKU non-residential countries: US$ 306/-
*Afghanistan, Burundi, Kenya, Pakistan, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda
Cash, money orders, postal orders and personal cheques are not acceptable.
Mode of Payment
You may use following options to make payment. The original deposit slip / bank acknowledgement receipt should be uploaded on the AKU portal. Please do not upload the payment request slip.

2. University E-Payment Facility
Candidates may choose to pay fee online through a credit/debit card.
Please notify the Finance Office through email at student.finance@aku.edu when making e-payment. Student's name, address, application tracking ID, amount, payment reference number and the purpose of payment should be clearly stated in the notification. The acknowledgement email received against e-payment must also be sent with the Application Form.
Note: it remains the responsibility of the candidate to complete the application requirements according to the instructions and time schedule. No reminders will be sent by the Admission Office. Once acknowledged, an application will not be returned.
Aga Khan University reserves the right to revoke admission and registration if an application form is discovered to be inaccurate or incomplete, or if supporting documents are discovered to be fraudulent. Any candidate who presents a fraudulent document in support of an application for admission may be identified to other universities and colleges.
For candidates submitting a paper based application; the application form together with the application fee and all required (attested) documents should be sent to the Admission Office through registered post or a reliable courier service to the following address:
