The Programme​

The Diploma in Oncology Nursing programme is an 18-month work-study programme aimed at educating nurses to function as specialized oncology nurses who can advance cancer care across the illness trajectory and at all levels of care by providing safe, competent, compassionate and quality cancer care.

The programme is based on the Canadian Association of Nurses i​n Oncology (CANO) standards and competencies for the specialist oncology nurse adapte​d to contextual relevance.​ Students will take responsibility for their education and develop critical thinking and reasoning in the process of learning. A range of formative​​ and summ​ative assessment ​methods​ will be used to facilitate and assess the achievement of the programme outcomes.
