This project is dedicated to tackling the growing problem of dementia, a condition that causes memory loss and other cognitive issues. Dementia is becoming more common worldwide, especially in low-income countries. Research shows that staying active and eating well can help lower the risk of developing dementia, but many people are unaware of these preventive measures.

Our goal is to learn more about what people in Kenya know and think about dementia and its prevention. We will conduct surveys with 500 adults in Nairobi to understand their awareness and beliefs about dementia.

The insights gained from this survey will help us create educational programs to teach people about dementia and how to prevent it. By raising awareness, we aim to empower the Kenyan community with the knowledge to reduce their risk of dementia. Additionally, this project will help build the skills of researchers and healthcare workers in Kenya, enabling them to continue working on dementia prevention in the future.
