From an Excellent Centre
Towards a Centre of Excellence: The CIME Journey
Join us in celebrating the transformative impact of
simulation-based education at AKU's Centre for Innovation in Medical
Education (CIME)! Our commitment to excellence has propelled us from an
Excellent Centre to a true Centre of Excellence, revolutionizing healthcare
education in Pakistan, Kenya, and beyond. Through simulation-based training,
we empower healthcare professionals, equipping them with essential skills to
deliver quality care and save lives.
Our journey has been made possible by the extensive and
generous contributions of our donors. Their support has enabled us to enhance
our facilities, expand our programmes, and reach more communities in need.
Accredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH), CIME adheres to
international standards of excellence, ensuring that our education and
training meet the highest benchmarks.
As we continue to innovate and inspire, we invite you to
join us in shaping the future of healthcare education. Together, we can make
a difference, transforming lives and improving healthcare outcomes for
generations to come. Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to
advancing simulation-based education at CIME.

Dr. Ayesha Ahmed Wins First
Prize: Pioneering Bioethics Education in Pakistan
Our education analyst, Dr.
Ayesha Ahmed, has won the first prize in an Essay Competition as part of the
First Bioethics Conference in Pakistan in February 2024. Her winning piece,
titled "Bioethics Education in Pakistan – What, Why, How," highlighted
the importance of Bioethics Education in Pakistan and the role of Simulation
as an "ethical pedagogy". The essay emphasized that the inclusion
of simulation in healthcare education is a direct application of bioethical
principles to the way new professionals are trained. Thus, bioethics should
not just be a subject in the educational system but an integral part of all
our educational practices. This perspective made the essay unique and secured
the first prize in the competition.
