​Newborn to Responsive Parenting

This course focuses on understanding newborn responsive caregiving and its key themes, including neo-natal development, infant cues and behavior, infant states, and parent-child interaction. This will equip​ caregivers with the skills to provide newborns with a stimulating and supportive environment and foster strong parent-child attachment.

Future Directions & Competencies

For Youth

The youth will enhance their basic knowledge regarding newborn responsive caregiving during childhood and may develop their interest in practicing and advancing in ECD education.


For parents & caregivers

Parents and caregivers will be equipped with the knowledge and skills regarding responsive caregiving and parenting during early childhood development that will help them to provide a stimulating and nurturing environment to their children leading to positive physical, cognitive, and social development.


For ECD/ECCE care providers & healthcare providers

The course will enhance the knowledge and skill capacity of ECD/ECCE care providers & healthcare professionals regarding newborn responsive caregiving including infant cues, and behaviors, and support parent-child interaction. Additionally, they will be able to educate parents in following a holistic approach to caring for their newborns in the first 6 months of life.


​Aim

This course aims to enhance knowledge and understanding regarding newborn responsive caregiving and its different components during the early years of a child which has a profound impact on the holistic development and overall well-being of a child in later life

Certification

A certificate of completion of ​​LEADS will be provided to the candidates who successfully meet the following criteria:

  • Pre-test

  • Recording of all PPTs

  • Attempt all module quizzes (post-test)

  • Post course evaluation

Who can participate

A parent, educator, teacher, nurse, or anyone interested in ECD with at least 12 years of education

Prerequisite

  • Completion of Intermediate

  • Someone who can read and understand basic English.

  • Should have access to internet
