Improve Your Workplace Communication Skills (Intermediate)
This 10-week online course is designed for low-intermediate English learners who want to improve their workplace communication, expand their vocabulary, and gain confidence in professional interactions. Through engaging activities, grammar practice, and real-world scenarios, you'll strengthen your ability to introduce yourself, discuss projects, check information, make requests, and participate in meetings and video calls.
Level
Participants should have a minimum A2 level of English (CEFR) to benefit from the course. You can check your level of English by taking this free test.
Course duration and study time
Participants are expected to spend 3–4 hours per week studying asynchronously for ten weeks. The course has a total of approximately 30 learning hours.
What you will learn
Language Proficiency: Improve fluency and accuracy in workplace communication, helping you express yourself clearly and confidently in professional settings.
Communication Skills: Gain confidence in workplace interactions, including introducing yourself, discussing projects, checking information, making polite requests, explaining decisions, and participating in meetings and video calls.
Writing Skills: Learn to write clear and structured workplace emails, proposals, and other professional texts. Improve sentence construction, use of linking words, and overall organization for effective communication.
How you will learn
This 10-week online course is delivered asynchronously, allowing you to study at your own pace and fit learning around your schedule. Each week, you will engage with videos, interactive activities, and discussion forums, completing tasks to apply and reinforce your learning.
Personalized Feedback and Support
An ELE_net online facilitator will provide support and feedback, helping you stay on track and improve your skills. They will review your submitted tasks, offer personalized feedback, and be available to assist with any course-related questions.
Earning Your AKU Micro-Credit and Digital Badge
To receive an AKU micro-credit backed by a digital badge, you must:
- Complete at least 80% of the course activities.
- Achieve a pass grade in 80% of the course units.
Your progress will be assessed based on their participation in weekly activities and the quality of submitted tasks. The micro-credit serves as a recognized achievement, demonstrating your workplace communication skills and English proficiency.
