Training Pathways
The AKUPI NCD research training program has the following training pathways:
Research Certification Track (Short/ Medium-term)
This is a hybrid, online-onsite research training course that intends to draw candidates from cross Pakistan to learn about NCD research. Course modules cover the following topics: NCD-CVD & Risk factors, Research Ethics, Principles of Qualitative Research, Designing a Study in CVD, Implementation Research in CVD & Stroke, Data Sciences in NCDs Research and Career Development Program. The courses are delivered by world class faculty drawing from Pakistan, USA, Canada and Japan.
The Early Career Research Acceleration in NCD Track (ECRA) (Long-term)
The Early Career Research Accelerator in NCD Track (ECRA) has three training options which include a track for obtaining a PhD, a track for obtaining a Masters degree in Data Science from IBA, and a track for those who already have quantitative research degree but need early career protected time, and research mentoring. All these tracks come with protected time for research, AKU/Duke mentoring, and grant funding.
