​​How to start giving your newborn baby tummy time

Tummy time is essential for your baby's development. It helps strengthen the muscles in their neck, back, hands, and lower legs that is crucial for milestones like sitting, crawling, and walking.​​​



Begin a few days after birth and aim for 2-3 minutes, 2 to 3 times a day. Adjust the duration b​ased on your baby's comfort. Increase the time gradually, so by 2 months, they receive 15 to 30 minutes daily. 

​Sometimes babies may vomit a little but don't panic. Just lift them up. 

Give tummy time after a diaper change. Don't give it after they have been fed.

Tummy time helps prevent the flattening of your baby's head.​
