Research
Being a component of a research-led University, the Department continues its emphasis on developing a research-oriented culture. It encourages multidisciplinary research of translational value through collaboration with clinical departments and efficient linkages with other institutions within Pakistan and abroad. The research focus is on the following research themes:
- Infection, immunity and inflammation
- Non-communicable diseases (CVD, Diabetes, Obesity, Cancer, Nutrition, Infertility)
- Neurosciences
- Stem cell biology
- Complimentary medicine
BBS is the recipient of a healthy and growing string of intramural and extramural grants. The departmental faculty members regularly publish their research work in national and international journals and present their research findings at various scientific conferences
