ADVICE AND SUPPORT TO DEVELOPMENT PARTNERS
The Department of Community Health Sciences (CHS) has, in the past, been instrumental in providing support to AKU's researchers for incorporating epidemiology and biostatistics tools in their quantitative research through its Statistical Clinical Services (SCS).
SCS has promoted the development of quality research proposals, manuscripts and conference presentations; as well as played an important role in statistical conceptualization and academic development of various stakeholders.
The department has resumed offering its consulting services, staffed by expert epidemiologists and biostatisticians, with the expectation to receive consultation requests from clinical and non-clinical faculty at AKU.
These would be based on conceptual and practical issues in epidemiology and statistics related to proposal development, data analysis and manuscript writing: e.g. study questions, hypothesis and design, data collection tools, sampling strategy, sample size estimation, analysis plan and interpretation of results.
