This intensive 48 hours of interactive teaching and learning will focus on test and measurement, and the psychometric properties of assessment tools.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the course the students will be able to apply principles of assessment and best evidence in medical education (BEME) to assessment practices to:
- search literature for tools to assess all outcomes;
- identify gaps in medical education literature where an outcome may not have valid or reliable tools to assess that particular Competency / Outcome(s);
- apply the theories and principles and the different types of reliability and the unitary concept of validity to
- develop an innovative assessment tool(s) for missing area(s)
- and to enhance learning
- interpret assessment data for monitoring, feedback and educational research.

This is a sixteen-week course from July 08 to October 25, 2019*

- one-week full-time intensive interactive period (Sep 09 to 16, 2019)*
- independent study and written application-based project.
The final assessment would be based on completion and grading of an independent study and 2000-3000 words application-oriented project.
For satisfactory completion of the course requirements, students have to attain at least 55% scores in continuous assessment and the written assignments independently, with an overall aggregate of 60%.

Assessment
The assessment in ALC-A2 (7015) is divided into the following two components which have to be passed separately.
Assessment will be based on:
- Course assessment
- Individual and group assignments and presentation.
- Mid-semester Assessment.
- Completion and grading of an independent study and written application–oriented project of 2000-3000 words.
For satisfactory completion of the course requirements, students have to attain at least 55% scores in the assessment(s) during the course and in the written assignments independently, with an overall aggregate of 60%.
